While playing minesweeper using my mobile, I suddenly thought how much it can be compared to life.
Obstacles are placed randomly and strategically. You start to click somewhere on the minefield. If you're lucky, a huge part is shown and so you start placing flags to boxes you think where the bombs are. You can go on and on. Until the time when only few mines are left, it will certainly force you to decide. This decision is a matter of life and death. Similarly, as we grow up, some things are laid out for us. Until we get to the point where we have to decide.
During playing, you see a smiley on top of the minefield. When a bomb explodes, this turns into a sad smiley face. When things go well in life, we smile. Of course we get sad when something bad happens. But we can always smile and try again right?
Minesweeper may be the last thing anyone can think of to compare with life. But I am pleased how this boring afternoon which was spent on playing turned out to be not so boring after all. Some days are just meant for reflection.
